1 K Magnet System

We have constructed a slim 1 K magnet system that can be inserted into a standard helium dewar. It offers an easy and cost-effective way to perform transport measurements on semiconductor nanostructures.

Selected Specifications:
     - cooldown time: < 1 h
     - circuit points: 24 probe lines and standard 32 pin chip carrier
     - temperature range: 1.5 K to room temperature
     - tube diameter: 5 cm
     - magnetic field strength: max. 5 T
     - thermometry and heater included

The 1 K magnet system has been developed by Cecil Barengo in Prof. Ensslin’s group at ETHZ on an initiative by Nikola Pascher while working at external page IBM.
