Allows use of diode lasers in optomechanical experiments

We have designed a new type of interference filter based external cavity diode laser with significantly lower spectral noise than state of the art commercially available diode lasers. With frequency noise of < 1 Hz²/Hz and intensity noise of < -155dBc/Hz for frequencies > 200 kHz it enables the use of diode lasers in optomechanical experiments and improves the sensitivity of optical measurements, thus making cheap diode lasers a suitable option for precision metrology.
