IMS Thermalization Plates
To achieve the thermalization of DC/RF applications in a cryogenic environment, the external page GAP Quantum Technologies group at the University of Geneva has developed thermalization plates based on Insulated Metal Substrate (IMS) technology that allow for the thermalization of the centre conductor of coaxial cables down to 0.8 Kelvin.
The thermalization plates have been successfully applied to effectively lower the operation temperatures of superconductive single-photon detectors as well as to thermalize an RF microstrip coax driving hyperfine transitions in a solid state quantum memory. They could be useful in many more applications in the realm of low temperature engineering.
Partnering with external page ID Quantique, we recently submitted a European patent application (application #

Inventors: Félix Bussières (U. of Geneva), Boris Korzh (U. of Geneva), Sylvain Chuard (IDQuantique).
