Polarization Independent Electro Optic Modulator
We have developed an electro-optic modulator (EOM), that overcomes one of the major drawbacks of state-of-the art EOMs, the strong polarization dependence.
We achieve this by using two separate, orthogonal electric fields to create equal phase-shifts for all polarizations. Hence, phase-control of light beams of any polarization (including unpolarized light) becomes possible in a compact setup.
