1D semiconductor quantum materials: a partial overview & perspectives

Semiconductor materials are at the core of the electronics and optoelectronics industry. In several applications including computing, the newest or next generation of devices will require the use of the so-called quantum semiconductors. In this talk I will discuss a particular case of these quantum materials, those conformed in a one-dimensional structure. We will discuss how to obtain them and few examples of applications.
