Quantum Machine Learning

Seth Lloyd
MIT, Cambridge, USA

This talk explores the use of quantum information processing to learn patterns in data. Quantum computers can provide an exponential speed-up over classical computers for common machine learning problems such as clustering, support vector machines, principal component analysis, and topological data analysis. Deep quantum learning circuits could both generate and recognize patterns that can't be recognized by classical deep learning circuits.
