How a quantum state gets from A to B

Andrew Jordan

Recent advances in superconducting quantum circuits have permitted the continuous monitoring of the state of a qubit as it is changing from a combination of unitary Hamiltonian dynamics, and measurement disturbance.  I will discuss new experiments where the state is prepared and postselected in freely chosen states, and the most likely path between the boundary conditions is found. Comparison to recently developed theory will be shown.
