Embedding Quantum Simulators for measuring n-time correlation functions
Julen Pedernales
University of the Basque Country, Bilbao, Spain
I will introduce the concept of Embedding Quantum Simulations (EQS), a generalization of standard one-to-one quantum simulations (QS) that enables the access to quantities that otherwise require full state reconstruction or the design of specific measurement apparatus. Among these quantities we consider, for example, entanglement monotones [1] and n-time correlation functions [2]. I will focus on the latter and describe the embedded algorithm that encodes such correlations in an initially added ancillary qubit. I will further discuss the applicability of these ideas to compute the effect of external perturbations on the dynamics of an isolated quantum system in the frame of linear response theory, and to simulate dissipative processes with unitary evolutions.
