Quantum Error Correction Now!
Ken Brown

Quantum systems have reached a level of complexity compatible with quantum error correction. We can now tune quantum error correction codes to match the errors found in experiments. I will briefly overview the state of the art and then discuss in detail the implementation of the Bacon-Shor code in a trapped ion systems in collaboration with Chris Monroe's group [1]. I will conclude with an outlook on future directions in quantum error correction.
