Rump Session

For the very first time, we will feature a Rump Session at the 2012 NCCR QSIT meeting in Arosa!

The session is intended to be informal in which participants give short presentations on breaking news, humorous takes on the subject, work in progress, and other topics of interest to the QSIT community. As we do not want the audience to fall asleep after a long conference day, we prefer non-technical and humorous contributions.

Possible topics for presentations include:

  • Preliminary research results that are not ready for presentation in a formal setting (or never will)
  • Ideas or suggestions for new groundbreaking experiments or theories
  • Discussion of emerging applications (or how the QSIT community can contribute to world peace)

We will have 5 talks of about 5 minutes each and a winner of the QSIT-Rump-Session will be determined by the audience. We doubt that the winning presentation will be meant to be all too serious, but there is a chance....

So to ensure that the Rump Session will be good, we need your contributions. Submissions of potential presentations consisting of a title and a very brief description should be sent to Kristian Baumann () before January 27, 2012. Remember, there are only 5 talks and the Rump-committee will then quickly decide from your numerous submissions.
